Sherri Leigh Godwin, born November 4, 1965 in Sampson County, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, August 5 at butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with the Reverend Stan Carter officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 6:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Lola Lucas; brothers, Gene Lucas and Johnny Lucas; sisters, Linda Scholl, Karen Faircloth and Kim Allen.

Sherri leaves her memories to be cherish by her husband, James P. Godwin; two sons, Timothy Godwin and Brandon Godwin and wife, Amber; her daughter, Samantha Ammons; step-son, Daniel Godwin; five loving grandchildren, Savannah Hollingsworth, Lavandin (Bubba) Hollingsworth, Abbigail Hollingsworth, Cameron Myers and Kensleigh Godwin; sister, Antia Lucas; brother, Kevin Lucas and wife, Pamela; long time best friend, Meghan Osterhout; beloved pet, Sugarfoot; and numerus nieces and nephews, along with many loving friends.
