Mrs. White was the daughter of Nathan and Edna Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Gloria Denise Huffman.
She was loved by all who knew and met her. A proud Sampson county native, never meeting a stranger, she loved celebrating family, friends, holidays, meals together, and helping those she loved. She served as a rock for her family and friends, providing a kind ear to listen and wise council when needed. Growing her own family with her husband over 40 years and she was a very proud wife, mother, and grandmother.
It is not possible to summarize one’s life in a brief summary. Shelia positively touched everyone’s life she met. She set the example of strength, love, grace, humility, perseverance, and being kind to others. Her lessons and legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all the people she met. Shelia’s hope was for people to love one another, get along with each other, and care for each other to help the world be a better place. Her life is a testament to her beliefs and reminds us every day of the good in the world.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, James L. White “Butch”; two sons, James L. White, Jr. and wife, Sarah C. White, Cameron N. White; four grandchildren, Cameron N. White “Boogie”, James L. White “Sito”, Jaxon S. White, Bryson L. White; and a brother, Murray T. Johnson.
