Salemburg
Mrs. Shelby Jean (Fann) Spell, 87, of Salemburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 20, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Zoar Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Kelvin Blackman and Reverend Randy Barker officiating. The burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:50 PM on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Zoar Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church prior to the service.
Mrs. Spell was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of William Ernie Fann and Letha Butler Fann. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Spell; and a brother.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Medlin and husband Lynn of Clinton, Carol Howard and husband Ronnie of Dunn; her son, Don Spell and wife Vickie of Salemburg; three grandchildren, April Phillips and husband Ryan of Autryville, Shannon New and husband Jason of Salemburg, and Ana Howard of Autryville; six great-grandchildren, Maggie Phillips, Maelyn Phillips, Mary Beth New, Robert Slaughter, Brooke New, and William Steed; two brothers, Rupert Fann and wife Barbara of Salemburg, and David Fann and wife Ann of Clinton; and a very special cat, Oreo.
Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, NC 28382.
