Scott Christopher Gonzales, 59 passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.

A graveside service with full Fireman Honors will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 17, 2025 at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Marlyn Gonzales; and his brother, Michael Gonzales.

Scott was with the United States Marine Corp for eight years.  He also was a Retired Lieutenant with Fayetteville Fire Department Station #16 for over 21 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Kimberly Gonzales of the home; children, Leslie Crumpler (Jay Timberlake) of Autryville, Ryan Santos (Arika) of Chattanooga, TN and Richard Crumpler (Jaclyn) of Autryville; brother, Rick Valenzuela (Lori) of Lake in the Pines, ILL, Jocelyn Novotny of Stafford, VA, and Lexa Slaton (Anna) of Leland, NC; and grandchildren, Madyson Crumpler (Will), Conner Jackson and Avri Santos.

Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Road, Stedman, NC 28391.
