Sarah Iceleane (Naylor) Crumpler

SALEMBURG, NC Mrs. Sarah Iceleane Crumpler, 96 of Salemburg, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020 at the home of her son. The funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Mount Carmel Church Family Life Center, 1656 Mount Carmel Church Road, Autryville, with Reverend John Cuthill and Reverend Bryan Strickland officiating.  Burial will follow at Piney Green Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Crumpler was born on March 24, 1924 in Sampson County and was the daughter of Ashley and Sarah Jackson Naylor.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Isiah Junior Crumpler; a son, Daniel Lynn Crumpler; five sisters, Carrie Lee Lee, Betsy Tew, Sellie Parsons, Inez Hawley, Myra Grey Warren; and six brothers, Berlie Naylor, Delmus Naylor, Theodore Naylor, R.A. Naylor, Kermit Naylor, Ralph Naylor.  She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church and retired from Hamilton Beach. She is survived by two sons, Ronald Graham Crumpler and wife, Patsy, Arnold Nelson Crumpler and wife, Joy; daughter-in-law, Hazel Crumpler; a sister, Elizabeth Rhodes; and her grandchildren, Lisa Crumpler Smith and husband, Dewayne, Daniel Ashley Crumpler, Eric DeLeon Crumpler, Christy Bullard, Adam Capps and wife, Emily, Jordan Smith, Marissa Crumpler, Olivia Crumpler, Bryan Strickland and wife, Brooke, Bentley Strickland, Brody Strickland. A walk through visitation will be held from 1:00-5:00pm on Tuesday afternoon and the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm.  Other times the family will receive friends at the home of Ronald and Patsy Crumpler. Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to Freedom Baptist Church, PO Box 338, Salemburg, NC 28385.  The family would like to thank the staff of Southwood Nursing Center and Liberty Hospice for their special care. The family requests the practice of social distancing and wearing face masks. Butler Funeral Home of Roseboro is serving the family.
