Mrs. Sarah C. Davis, 89

ROSEBORO Mrs. Sarah Clyde Davis, 89 of Roseboro, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2008 at Mary Gran Nursing Center in Clinton. Funeral services will be held at Butler Funeral Home on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Davis was born in 1918 in Sampson County to the late Henry and Carrie Parker Tanner. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse James Davis; her children, James E. Davis, Flora Arnett, and Bennett Davis. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Davis is survived by: two children, Ruth Lucas of Raleigh, and Earl Davis of Florida; two son-in-laws, W.A. Lucas of Roseboro, and Charles Arnett of Florida; one daughter-in-law, Ada Davis of Florida; three brothers, Lacy Tanner, Roland Tanner, and Jack Tanner; twenty grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 until 9 PM at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, in Roseboro.
