ELIZABETHTOWN
Mrs. Ruthie Mae McMillan, 91 of 615 Cain Loop Road, died on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at The Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center in Fayetteville.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Briar Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Carlton Bryan and Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. McMillan was born on June 17, 1921 in Bladen County to the late Wiliby and Bleachie Guyton Smith. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Earl Wilbur McMillan. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, and was dearly loved by everyone in her community. She was a member of Briar Branch Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She is survived by: six sons, Wayne McMillan of the home, Billy Earl McMillan of Stedman, Bobby Gerald McMillan and Edward Tatum both of Elizabethtown, Jimmy Tatum of Erwin and Grady "G.C." Tatum of Bladenboro; two daughters, Sandra Stanley of Winston-Salem and Sarah Bourbeau of Elizabethtown; 25 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; and one sister, Yvonne Tatum of Elizabethtown.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro and other times at her home.
