Mrs. Ruth Ann Carter, 86 of 7395 Autryville Road, Autryville, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with the Rev. Andy Wood officiating.

Mrs. Carter was born September 16, 1928 in Denver, Colorado, to the late John Thomas and Ruth Lange Ramsey. She is preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Thomas J. Carter. She was a retired Registrar.

She is survived by her husband, Okey Carter, Jr. of the home; one son, James O. Carter and wife Melody Kohl of Pennsylvania; and two grandchildren, John K. Carter of Texas and Joseph O. Carter of Pennsylvania.
