Mrs. Ruby Doris (Williams) Spell, 84 of Roseboro, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Shawn Berryhill and Reverend Allen West officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:50 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the church prior to the service.

Mrs. Spell was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of Alman and Lillian Catherine Lewis Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Lindsey Spell; and two brothers, Thomas B. Williams and J.C. Williams.

Mrs. Spell worked at a cotton factory during the night shift and she worked at Clinton Apparel. She was the manager of Two Dogs Pizza in Roseboro for 9 years before branching out on her own. She is the founder of Salem Pizza. She was very active in the restaurant until she was 80 years old. Then, she stepped down to take care of her husband, Goodie until her health began to fail her.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 65 years, Benjamin F. “Goodie” Spell, four children, June Fields and husband, Mark of Roseboro; Randy Spell and wife, Angie of Roseboro; Allen Spell of Salemburg; Keith Spell of Roseboro; her daughter-in-law, Donna Spell of Roseboro; nine grandchildren, Jonathan Honeycutt (Cortney), Brandon Carter (Brittney), Tracy Williams (Jonathan), Tara Simpson (Eric), Jessica Allen (Gibby), Troy Spell (Lauren), Savannah Alderson (Dallen), Auston Spell (Karen) and Benjamin Spell; thirteen great-grandchildren, Aubrey Williams, Emery Williams, Denton Williams, Kerigan Simpson, Kenedy Simpson, Brycen Carter, Brayden Carter, Brynna Carter, Jordyn Jackson, Paisley Jackson, Dawson Allen, Gunner Spell and Tyson Guyton; and six brothers and sisters, Teenie Griffith, Betty Spell, Ann House, Alma Palmer, Edward Williams and David Williams.

Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W Roseboro Street, Roseboro, NC 28382.
