Mrs. Ruby H. Weathington, 86

ROSEBORO Mrs. Ruby Hudson Weathington, 86, of 12528 NC Highway 210 South, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mrs. Weathington was born on April 22, 1922 in McDaniel's Township, Sampson County, Parkersburg, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wade and Betty Goodrich Hudson; two brothers,James Wade "JW" Hudson of Cheraw, SC and Jerry Hudson of Garland; her son, James Lewis "JL" Weathington; her husband, Lewis Henry Weathington. She was a homemaker and a farmer and a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Mrs. Weathington is survived by: son, Daniel Weathington and wife Brenda, of Lumberton; daughter-in-law, Barbara O'Connor and husband Paul of Garner; two sisters, Lois Wright, of Roseboro and Nellie Sullivan, of Wilmington; one brother, Jimmy Hudson of Clarkton; three grandchildren, Jean Renee Spencer and husband Jim, of Garner, Jonathan Lewis Weathington, of Raleigh and Morgan Dowd, of Lumberton; great-grandchild, Andrew James Spencer, of Garner; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 3:00 pm at Beaver Dam Baptist Church with Dr. Lynn Bullock and Mr. Daniel Weathington officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1 until 3 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Beaver Dam Baptist Church, 4706 Beaver Dam Church Road, Roseboro, NC 28382.
