STEDMAN Mr. R.T. Shaw, 81 of 2588 Wade-Stedman Road, died on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at LaFayette Memorial Park with Rev. Steve Gordon officiating. Mr. Shaw was born on September 15, 1929 in Randolph County, Alabama, to the late Steven Angus and Mattie Wilson Shaw. He retired as a Cook in the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War and the Korean Conflict. He is survived by: his wife, Lillie Shaw of the home; two daughters, Deborah Schmid Madison and husband, Phil of Florida, and Anita Gordon and husband, Steve of Fuquay-Varina; one sister, Eulette Seegar of Alabama; and four grandchildren, Ashley Gordon, Amanda Gordon, Amber Gordon and Robert Gordon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
