Roy E. Jackson, Sr., 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at his home in Kings Park, New York.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with the Reverend Andy Wood officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg.

The family will receive friends from 11:00-11:50 PM on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro prior to the service.

Roy was born in Carter County, Tennessee, the son of Carmal Jackson and Fanny Clover Jackson. He is preceded in death by his parents; and 4 months earlier by his sister-in-law, Gal Fann, whom he had so much fun with.

Roy served in the Army, to return, and met his beloved wife of 59 years, Judy Hollingsworth. They had a life full of love and laughter with their children and grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He worked in the State Hospital for over 30 years. He lived a full life doing the things he loved; hunting, camping, having his coffee with his newspaper, taking long walks around town, riding motorcycles, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; four children, Roy E. Jackson, Jr., Michael Jackson and wife Judy, Denise Jackson and husband Danny, and Delores Crima and husband Jimmy; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great grandsons; a brother-in-law, Doc Hollingsworth and wife, Jeanne; and two sisters-in-law, Margaree Hollingsworth and Lalon Hollingsworth; and many nieces and nephews.
