Mr. Roy Matthew Carter, 94

Mr. Roy Carter, 94 of 3910 NC Hwy 210 S. passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the NC State Veterans Nursing Home.

He was a World War II veteran with the United States Army.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Carter and Rebecca Averitte Carter; wife, Rudell McCall Carter; brothers, Garfield and Garland Carter; and sisters, Daisy Carter and Annie Johnson.

He is survived by his children, Leonard Carter & wife, Beverly of Godwin, Thomas Carter & wife, Mary of Fayetteville, James Carter & wife, Brenda of Fayetteville and Penny Carter Keel of Wake Forest; sister, Sudie Starling of Fayetteville; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Stedman Church of God of Prophecy, officiating will be Pastor Don Baldwin and Rev. John Blackman, Jr. Interment will follow at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:00pm to 9:00pm Monday, January 16, 2017 at the funeral home.
