Rev. Roger L. Jackson, 89

ROSEBORO Rev. Roger L. Jackson, 89, of 2119 Butler Island Road, passed away Saturday, May 02, 2009 at Southwood Nursing and Retirement Center in Clinton. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Roseboro First Baptist Church with the Rev. Hampton Faircloth and Rev. Roger White officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jackson was a native of Cumberland County, the son of the late Evander and Minia West Jackson. He was preceded in death by his son, Roger L. Jackson, Jr. Rev. Jackson was also a Baptist minister for 58 years serving in Cumberland and Sampson counties. Rev. Jackson is survived by: wife, Mildred Sandy Jackson, of the home; granddaughter, Cindy Bedard and husband Mark, of Autryville; two great-grandchildren, Cole Bedard and Dakota Bedard, both of Autryville. The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 2:00 pm Monday, May 4, 2009 at Roseboro First Baptist Church.
