ROSEBORO Mr. Rodney Ray Porter, 42 of 2821 Butler Island Road, Roseboro, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. The funeral will be held 2:00 pm Thursday at Butler Funeral Home, Roseboro, with Reverend Glenn Morgan and Reverend Jim Woodruff officiating. Burial will follow at the Coston Hales Cemetery, Roseboro. He was born on April 8, 1974 in Sampson County and is preceded in death by his father, Bennie Ray Porter; and grandfathers, Bennie Porter, Wilbur Barnes, Coston Hales. He worked with Imperial Extermination of Roseboro. He is survived by his wife, Amy Vinson Porter of Roseboro; daughter, Taylor Porter of Roseboro; mother, Sue Hales Porter of the home; step-mother, Connie Pittman of Orrum; sisters, Rhonda Abercrombie and husband Chris of Georgia, Savannah Driggers and husband Corrbitt of Orrum; grandmothers, Helen Barnes of Charlotte, Virglene Hales of Roseboro; nieces, Madelyn, Natalie; and nephews, Kevin, Porter. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Wednesday at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, and other times at the home.
