Rev. Robert E. Wilbourne, 55

STEDMAN Rev. Robert Earl Wilbourne, 55 of 2741 Wade-Stedman Road, died on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at his home. Rev. Wilbourne was born in Wake County on October 19, 1954 to the late Patrick Connor, Sr. and Helen Maxine Taylor Wilbourne. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tara Rose Wilbourne, a sister, Patricia Gould and a brother, Patrick Connor Wilbourne, Jr. He obtained an Associates Degree in Christian Education from U.C.M.I. and an Associates Degree in Biblical Studies from Liberty University. He pastored congregations for over 34 years in Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia and North Carolina and was the current pastor of Sapona Road Church of God in Fayetteville. Also, he served as a Reserve Chaplain for the West Virginia Air National Guard from 2005 until 2007. He was also in the construction business for 35 years and was married to his high-school sweetheart for 38 years. Services will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman with the Rev. Jason Wilbourne, Rev. Dwight Spivey, Rev. Kenneth Boyd, Rev. Rick Mann and Rev. Darrell Waller officiating. Burial will follow at Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman. Rev. Wilbourne is survived by his wife, Lois Wilbourne of the home; son Patrick Jason Wilbourne and wife, Kimberly of Inwood, West Virginia; daughter, Amber Rose Wilbourne of Stedman; granddaughter, Audrey Michelle Wilbourne of Inwood, West Virginia; sister, Sarah Wilbourne Flowers of Coats and numerous nieces and nephews.
