Mr. Robert Wayne Tanner, Jr., 54 of Autryville went to be his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Pleasant Union Baptist Church with Reverend Joey Dockery, Reverend Andy Wood, Reverend Bryan Strickland and Reverend Paul Honeycutt officiating. The burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.

Mr. Tanner was a native of Sampson County, the son of Robert Wayne Tanner, Sr. and Lois Faircloth Bullard. He was preceded in death by his father.

Robert was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church. He worked with Lafayette Farms, formally known as Cohaire Farms for over 30 years. He also worked with Butler Funeral Home.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 24 years, Amanda C. Tanner of the home; three children, Elijah B. Jacobs and wife, Natalie of Newton Grove; Sydney Morgan Tanner of the home; and Robert Wayne Tanner, III “Trey” of the home; three granddaughters, Nadia Heath, Lana Jacobs and Ava Jacobs; his mother, Lois Bullard and husband, Edward of Autryville; his sister, Shannon Faircloth and husband, Donald of Stedman; his step-sister, Karen Holder and husband, Gary of Sanford; two step-brothers, Daren Bullard and wife, Melissa of Vale, NC; and Brandon Bullard of Roseboro; his nephew, Bryson Faircloth of Autryville; his niece, Taylor Faircloth of Stedman; seven nieces and nephews; two aunts, Peggy Faircloth of Roseboro; and Jeanette Tanner of Autryville; many cousins and friends; and fur grandbaby, Willow.

The family would like to a give a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice for the caring support during Robert’s sickness and especially his nurse Tommie for loving care.
