ROSEBORO

Mr. Robert Brantley Melvin, Jr., 69 of 573 County line Road, Roseboro, passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 at his home.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 am Monday at Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Lamont Hemminger officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Melvin Family Cemetery.

Born on June 29, 1947 in Cumberland County, he was the son of the late Robert Brantley and Margie Myrtle King Melvin. He was a Navy Veteran and was a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Melvin of the home; step-daughters, Wendy Gutierrez of Roseboro, and Aldra Naylor of Roseboro; step-son, Johnny Street Parker; granddaughter, Britney Highsmith; sister, Brenda Melvin of Wilmington; and brothers, Joe "Button" Melvin of Roseboro, and Doug Melvin of Garland.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, and other times at the home.
