Mr. Robert "Bob" E. Harris, 73

STEDMAN Mr. Robert Eugene "Bob" Harris, 73, of 7508 Clinton Road passed away Wednesday, May 27 at his home. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was born in Washington, D.C. on October 2, 1935. He entered the U.S. Army in 1972 and served with the Special Forces in Vietnam, receiving the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. Mr. Harris retired from the army as a M/Sgt. after twenty years of service. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Powers Harris. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 30 at Stedman Baptist Church with Dr. Phil Spears officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens. He is survived by: his wife, Carol W. Harris of the home; two sons, George Smith of Autryville and Gordon Smith of Fayetteville; two daughters, Carolyn Swann of Fayetteville and Evelyn Fulford of Enterprise, AL; seven brothers, Larry Harris, Milton Harris, George Harris, Martin Harris, Charles Harris, Richard Harris and Raymond Meador; one sister, Anita Richardson; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M., Friday, May 29 at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.
