Robert David Collier, 68, of Wade, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 30th. 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Bethabara Methodist Church in Autryville, officiating will Rev. Jennifer Wise.  Burial with military honors at Old Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Born March 16th, 1958 in Raleigh, North Carolina. David was the oldest of three boys. He graduated from Cary High School in 1976 and went on to marry his sweetheart GeeGee Mantiply Collier. He enlisted in the Army and spent time stationed in Germany. David graduated from NC State University and later worked as an engineer for many years at Buhler Aeroglide and had the opportunity to travel the world. He married Christine Debes in August of 2025. He loved spending time with his family and friends, his pets, and vintage Volkswagens. David will be remembered as being incredibly caring. He was a friend to many and always made time to help folks out. He is preceded in death by his wife GeeGee; daughter, Dominique Angeleah Collier; brother, Chris Collier; his mother, Jean Fettig. 

He is survived by his wife, Christine Debes; two daughters, Michelle Swart (Derek) and Katrina Collier; stepdaughter, Svenja Debes (Arthur); stepson, Dominik Debes (Jana-Maria); grandchildren, Cipie Swart, Ansel Swart, Sophie-Marie Bünning and Leonard Bünning; father, Whitley Collier (Lucy); brother, Kevin Collier (Michele). He will be deeply missed by his extended family, friends and colleagues.
