Rita Collier Morrison, 78 went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, July 24, 2026 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Stedman, officiating will be Rev. Jeff Bartlett and Rev. Eddie Smith. Burial will follow at Wiley Autry Cemetery in Autryville.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 11:50 AM Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Rita was born in Sampson County to the late Walter Haynes Collier and Thelma Ruth Autry Collier. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, William “Billy” Morrison; son, Mike Dillon; sister, Elizabeth Barefoot; and a grandson, Jonathan Dillon.

The family would like to thank Dr. Apolinario, Lynn, Sampson Regional Medical Center staff, family and friends for all that they did for her and the family.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Sherrie Williams & husband, H.S. Williams; son, Kenneth Dillon; 3 grandchildren, Shelby Williams, Ethan Williams and Brandon Dillon; 3 great-grandchildren, Leighanna, Chloe and Kaylee; 3 sisters, Edna Dickey & husband, Ivan, Vivian Jackson & husband, Robert, and Lydia Wrench; brother, Grady Collier & wife, Gail; and many nieces and nephews.
