Mr. Richard Keith "Ricky" Tanner, 63

SALEMBURG

Mr. Richard Keith “Ricky” Tanner, of Salemburg, died Friday, April 13, 2018 at Rex Hospital.

He was born in Sampson County on February 13, 1955 to the late James F. and Lillian Crowson Tanner.

Following in his father’s footsteps, he worked as an electrical contractor, (Ricky Tanner Elec. Service). He loved boating, fishing and VW racing.

He is survived by his wife, Julie B. Tanner; son, Richard K. Tanner, Jr.; sisters, Shirley T. Childress, Ann T. McLeod, Peggy M. Tanner, Elaine T. Larson; brothers, James M. Tanner, Jerry S. Tanner; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, J.R. Daughtry; and brothers, Johnny R. Tanner, Billy F. Tanner, Tommy J. Tanner.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 6:50pm Thursday, April 19, at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, with the memorial service following at 7:00pm with Wayne Thomas and Rev. Brian Burgess officiating.
