EASTOVER
Mrs. Rhumelle Woodruff Harrell, 79, of Eastover passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013 at her home. She had retired from Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where she worked as a registered nurse in the operating room. She was born in Nash County, the daughter of the late Nick D. Woodruff and Bluma Dixon Woodruff. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Hubert Rudolph Harrell and two brothers, Donald R. Woodruff and Belmont N. Woodruff.
A private memorial service for family will be held at a later date with Rev. Bryan Strickland officiating.
She is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Armstrong (husband Jim) of Eastover and Sandra Brown (husband Earnest) of Fayetteville; one grandson, Matthew Brown of Fayetteville; one brother, Aubrey Woodruff (wife Peggy) of Nashville, NC; two sisters-in-law, Betty Jean Woodruff of Rocky Mount and Pauline Harrell of New Bern; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved canine companion, Rambo.
Her family and friends remember her as a loving and selfless person with a zeal for life. She was passionate about everything she did. She was instrumental in so many friends attaining their personal goals through her giving spirit. She loved to travel the world, but especially loved the beach and the mountains. Mostly, she loved being with her family.
