Stedman
Rev. Carrie Lee Whitehurst Parrish, 80 of Huntersville, NC and formerly of Stedman, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 18, 2022 at the Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center.
Rev. Parrish was a native of Pitt County and the daughter of the late Lewis and Minnie Brown Whitehurst. She was the widow of the late Alonzo Parrish III. She was preceded in death by her brother Ronald Whitehurst.
Rev. Parrish was a United Methodist Minister for over 35 years serving Bethany UMC, Halls UMC, Bethabara UMC, Roseboro UMC, Christ UMC and served as college chaplain at Methodist University. She also spent time teaching history and coaching at Stedman High School, Cape Fear High School, Midway High School, and Mac Williams Middle School.
Rev. Parrish is survived by her daughters, Julia (Mike) Riddle and Margaret (John) Colvin; brothers Steve (Valerie) Whitehurst and Sammy (Linda) Whitehurst, sister-in-law Marlon Whitehurst; five grandchildren Anna E. Riddle, Zachery P. Riddle, James T. Riddle, Ava G. Colvin, Madalyn J. Colvin and countless others who loved her dearly.
A memorial service will be held September 10, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Cokesbury United Methodist Church with a family greeting following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rev.
