Ret. Major James “Jim” Reale, 83 passed away on Monday, October 12, 2026 at Highsmith Rainey Memorial Hospital.

Graveside service with full military honors will be held at 3:30 PM Thursday, October 15, 2026 at Sandy Horne Cemetery in Autryville.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home prior to the graveside service.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Peter Reale and Aldona Szymanski Reale; his wife, Mary Ellen (Bolton) Reale; and his brother, Robert Reale.

Jim graduated from Arizona University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He also retired from the United States Army. While serving his country Jim received numerous awards, including The Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Medal, both The Silver and The Bronze Stars, and The Purple Heart along with many other accomplishments. Following his military retirement he worked Civil Service on Fort Bragg as a Communication Specialist, where he also received many awards.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Bobbi Jean Shoop (Brian) of Arlington, VA; son, Terry Grant Hall (Katrina) of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Noah Hall, Kolbi Clark, Kylee and Kalyn Shoop; great grandchild, Robert Clark.
