Ret. Msgt Joel Thomas Fowler, 80

Ret. MSGT Mr. Joel Thomas Fowler, 80 passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

He was a retired Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bud Allen Fowler and Sallie Holland Fowler; brothers, Robert Fowler and David "Red" Fowler and his first wife, Aki Saito Fowler.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Fowler of the home; children, Thomas Fowler of Pineville, NC, James Fowler & wife, Kim of Lakewood, Washington, Sandra Naylor & husband, AC of Roseboro, Sammy Greenway of South Dakota and Randy Greenway & wife, Joette of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Brandi Petersen, James Fowler, Jr., Amie Greenway, Kyle Greenway and Danielle McPhail; and great granddaughter, Moira Petersen.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, February 13, 2017 at Stedman Pentecostal Holiness Church, officiating will be Rev. Allen Mayo & Rev. Richard Williford, III. Interment with full military honors will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:45am Monday at the church before the service.
