Mrs. Rebecca Beale Smith, 86 passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Friday, March 30, 2018 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel, officiating will be Pastor John Blackman. Burial will follow at Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 2:45pm Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James R. and Bettie Mae Dean Beale; husband, Jack R. Smith, Sr.; son, Daniel Edward Smith and daughter, Carol Ann Smith.

She is survived by her son, Jack R. Smith, Jr. & wife, Beatrice of Cedar Creek; daughter, Linda Bedsole of the home; brother, Tony Beale of Parkton; grandchildren, Jack "Jackie" R. Smith, III & wife, Wanda of Benson, Horace "Bill" W. Bedsole & wife, Brandy, Danny Ray Hunt, Roy Lee Hunt & wife, Ann and Glenn Anthony Hunt; and great grandchildren, Ashley Dailey & husband, Taylor, Kaytlyn Hunt, Samantha Jean Hunt, Jeanette Walters, Haley Hunt, Daniel Ray Hunt, Caleb Morgan and Landon Bedsole. She is also survived by her loving companions, Rose and Pretty Bird.
