FAYETTEVILLE
Retired US Air Force M/SGT Ralph Edwin Tolar, 85, died in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Saturday, January 18, 2014.
Mr. Tolar was born in Wayne County on June 19, 1928 the son of the late Johnnie Leland Tolar and Alma Jackson Tolar. He was a Mason and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He also retired from Civil Service at Fort Bragg.
Funeral services will be held at Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Stedman on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Ed Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Graveside services with military honors will take place at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 24 at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, NC.
Survivors include his wife, Yoshiko Tolar of the home; daughter, Peggy Wallace and husband, Jeff of Brunswick, GA; son, Charles Tolar and wife, Alice of Sanford; and two grandchildren, Nic Wallace and Jake Wallace of Brunswick, GA.
