OAK ISLAND Mrs. Rachel Colene Mahala Parker, 84 of 138 Northwest 5th Street, Oak Island, died on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center in Wilmington. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Pleasant Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Paul Honeycutt officiating. Mrs. Parker was born on February 21, 1928 in Davidson County to the late James and Frankie L. Cross Mahala. She was a homemaker. She is survived by: her loving and devoted husband, Claxton J. Parker of the home; one brother, Ward H. Mahala of Kernersville; nephew, Gary L. Mahala of Kernersville; niece, Pamela E. Mahala of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 1:00 to 1:45 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W.
