Mrs. Rachel Nunnery Bennett, 97 went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 27, 2024 at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Stedman Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend Michael Bartlett and Reverend Don Baldwin officiating. The burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at the church prior to the service.

Mrs. Bennett was a native of Cumberland County, the daughter of John and Oma Murray Nunnery. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, James Arrington; her second husband, Thomas A. Bennett; three step-sons, Tom Arrington, Thomas D. Bennett and Darrell Bennett; and five brothers, John Preston Nunnery, Roland Nunnery, Rufus Nunnery, Randolph Nunnery and Max Nunnery.

She leaves to cherish her memory two step-sons, James P. Arrington (Patricia) and Jerry A. Bennett (Connie); four step-daughters, Jeanne Hartless, Becky Hedrick, June Bennett Nunnery (Robert), and Jean Bennett; her brother, Robert L. Nunnery (June); two sisters, Sadie Bigsby and Vernie Faircloth; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stedman Pentecostal Holiness Church Family Life Building Fund, 432 Hillsboro St., Stedman, NC  28391.
