Mr. Porter Stanley, Jr., 90 passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Southwood Nursing Center.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 29 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with the Reverend Allen West and Reverend LArry Autry officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-2:50 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.

Mr. Stanley was a native of Sampson County, the son of Porter Stanley, Sr. and Ruby Benson Sales. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Clara Fann Stanley; second wife, Romelia Autry Hall Stanley; son, Dennis Stanley; sister, Ruth Jones; and two brothers, Johnnie Stanley and Clyde Stanley.

He is survived by two sisters, Peggy Autry and husband, Douglas of Autryville; and Carolyn Knowles of Salemburg; sister-in-law, Debbie Stanley of Richlands;  two step-daughters, Betty Hall and husband, Ottis of Autryville; and Penny Smith and husband, Lee of Newton Grove; numerous step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a special and loving caregiver, Pat Tyndall.
