Phyllis Norton Baggett "Nanny" (91), formerly of Clinton, North Carolina passed away on Aug 10, 2021 in Richmond Virginia.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 12 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with the Reverend Andy Wood. Burial will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg.

Born Phyllis Christine Norton on May 5, 1930 to the late James Walter Norton Sr., and Rochelle Butler Norton. She studied nursing at the College of William and Mary. She was an RN in many hospitals for many years before retiring to San Diego California. She moved back to Virginia in 1990 to help raise her granddaughter Christine. She enjoyed I Love Lucy reruns and trips to Mexico and Miami and long phone calls with her sisters discussing the top story on Larry King or CNN. And you usually wouldn’t find her out in public without her make up done and a dab or two of Chanel N*5 on.

Phyllis is survived by her son Marc Baggett of Richmond VA. Her sister Frances Lane (99) of Portsmouth VA. Four Grandchildren; Christine Birkeland (Henry) of Richmond, Stacy Walstrum (Chris) of Ridgley MD, Ryan Dietrich (Chris) of Hankamer TX and Casey Baggett of San Antonio TX. She was blessed with 6 great-grandchildren; Cameron Bull, Alex, Riley and Owen Walstrum, Cody and Bubba Dietrich. As well as several Nieces and Nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Lester Grant Baggett. Brothers; James "Jimmy" Norton Jr, Henry Graham Norton, Elliot "Mack" Norton and A.D. Norton. Sisters; Molly Wood and Lynette Davis.

Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, NC.
