Mrs. Phoebe (Herring) Sandy, 87 of Roseboro, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 9, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Roseboro Methodist Church with the Reverend Andy Wood officiating. The burial will follow at Roseboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:50 PM on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at the church prior to the service.

Mrs. Sandy was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of Charles Arnold and Daisy Lee Cloinger Herring.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmie Lee “Jake” Sandy; and her sister, Carol H. Goins.

Phoebe loved playing golf and bridge. She was a devoted employee of the NC Justice Academy of Salemburg for 43 years. She was a devoted and dedicated life time member of Roseboro Methodist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Leigh S. Smith and husband, David of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Jennifer Ammons of Cedar Point, NC; her son, Arnold Sandy and wife, Caroline of Roseboro; three grandchildren, Amber Cooper; Ben Sandy and wife, Kristina; and Josh Sandy; and three great-grandchildren, Benleigh Sandy, KrisAnna Sandy and Olin Cooper.
