Mr. Phillip E. Edwards, 70

FAYETTEVILLE Mr. Phillip Eugene Edwards, 70, of 6459 Sangi Lane, Fayetteville died Monday, October 20 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was a machinist. He was born in Beaufort County, November 2, 1937 to Eugene Edwards and Ella Bright Edwards. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 22 at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. John Jones and Rev. Larry Wilkes officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Ina Edwards of the home; one daughter, Penny Higgins and husband John of Clayton; one step-son, George Williams and wife Kelly of Fayetteville; one step-daughter, Sheri Jones of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Taelor Jones, Taylor Higgins, Michael Williams and Laurel Williams; one sister, Linda Edwards of Timmonsville, SC; and one brother, Benson Edwards of Rockford, Ill. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M., Tuesday, October 21 at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.
