Mr. Payton A. Mcphail, 75

SALEMBURG Mr. Payton Adam McPhail, 75 of 1368 McPhail Road, died on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Durham. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. W.O. Reiber and Rev. Allen West officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. McPhail was born in 1933 in Sampson County to the late Huey Adam and Leanor Knowles McPhail. He is preceded in death by: his parents; one sister, Peggy M. Rozier; and a brother, Luther Layton McPhail. He was a retired Brick Mason and Farmer. Mr. McPhail is survived by: his wife, Edna H. McPhail of the home; one daughter, Joy McPhail of Salemburg; one son, Danny McPhail and wife Kim of Salemburg; four sisters, Vila Reynolds of Clinton, Mary Fann of Roseboro, Alma Coats of Salemburg, and Linda Williams of Autryville; two grandsons, Jared McPhail and Alex McPhail; and several beloved nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, in Roseboro, and other times at the home.
