Mrs. Patty Lou (Pollard) Thornton, 88 of Hope Mills, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman with the Reverend Andy Wood officiating.

Mrs. Thornton was a native of Johnston County, the daughter of Mack Lorman and Annie Laura Goodrich Pollard. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Durwood Max Pollard.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Ernest Thornton, Jr.; two sons, Robert “Bobby” Tarrant and Eugene Tarrant (Gene); her daughter, Lisa Garner; two grandchildren; her great-grandchild; and her sister, Shirley Palmer.
