SALEMBURG
Mr. Ottis Tyndall, 95 of 210 Jackson Street, Salemburg, died on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Golden Care Assisted Living in Wallace.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Salemburg Baptist Church with Rev. John Adams, Rev. Jimmie Suggs and Rev. Roger White officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens with fireman honors.
Mr. Tyndall was born on April 10, 1918 in Sampson County to the late A. Ronnie and Allie Beal Tyndall. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nadine Hudson Tyndall; and three sisters, Pearline Williams, Berthena Jones and Nadine Pope. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired Mechanic. He served as a Commissioner with the Town of Salemburg for decades and also was a retired Fireman with the Salemburg Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by: one son, Billy Tyndall and wife Frankie of Raleigh; one daughter, Charlie T. Ducker and husband Danny of Burgaw; four grandchildren, Susan Page, Martha Gregory, Julie Tyndall and Randi Nunnery; four great grandchildren, Alison, Holland, Jonathan and Ethan; and two brothers, Dentley Tyndall of Salemburg and Curtis Tyndall of Roseboro.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro and other times at his home.
