Mr. Otis Arthur Thames, 77

EASTOVER Mr. Otis Arthur Thames, 77 of 3312 Beard Road, died on Monday, January 10, 2011 at Bethesda Health Care Facility in Eastover. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Freedom Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Worley officiating. Burial will follow at the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Eastover. Mr. Thames was born in 1933 in Cumberland County to the late Arthur and Betty Anderson Thames. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator in the Construction Industry. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Collier Thames of the home; three daughters, Donna Ambrose Harrelson of Benson, Debra Thames Cain and DeAnna Thames Mehan both of Eastover; and five grandchildren, Marc Lovick, Michael Lovick, Christi Lovick Jones, Sherrall Godwin and Elizabeth Cain Fergurson. The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. at Freedom Baptist Church, 2115 Middle Road, Eastover, and other times at the home.
