Mrs. Ossie F. Mclamb

AUTRYVILLE Mrs. Ossie Virginia Faircloth McLamb, of Autryville, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2009 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mrs. McLamb was the eldest daughter of Edgar Bryon and Ida Lorena Autry Faircloth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isom Thomas McLamb, her parents, a sister, and three brothers. Mrs. McLamb was a graduate of East Carolina University and taught school in Sampson, Johnson, New Hanover, Jacksonville, Florida City Schools, and in Cumberland Counties for thirty seven years. Mrs. McLamb was a lifetime member of the "National Education Association" and the "N.C. Association of Educators." Mrs. McLamb was a life-long member of Autryville Baptist Church where she was active in teaching Sunday School. Services will be held at Autryville Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 with Rev. Ronald Long and Rev. Richard Spell officiating. Burial will follow at Autryville Cemetery. Mrs. McLamb will lie in state in the church one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be held Monday night from 6 until 8 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, in Roseboro. Mrs. McLamb is survived by: one sister, Bessie Carolyn Faircloth Autry (Waylon), of Birmingham, AL; three nieces, four nephews, five great nieces, and five great nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Autryville Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 26, Autryville, N.C. 28318.
