Mr. Ollis “Pete” Hartwell Averitte, 83 went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 16, 2022 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with the Reverend George Terry officiating. The burial will follow at Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:50 PM on Monday, May 12, 2022 at the funeral home prior to the service.

Mr. Averitte was a native of Sampson County, the son of Thomas Warren and Annie Vernon Paige Averitte. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Clara Jewell Averitte of the home; his daughter, Carla Dixon and husband, Fred of Roseboro; and two grandsons, Branden Jones of the home; and Cameron Drew Jones and wife Julie of Roseboro.
