Mr. Okey Carter, Jr., 88 of Autryville, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

No local services will be held. Inurnment will be held in Chesapeake, Ohio.

Mr. Carter was born on January 26, 1927 in New Port, Kentucky, and is preceded in death by his parents, Okey Jackson and Alvena Inez Bartram Carter; his wife, Ruth Ann Ramsey Carter; and one son, Thomas J. Carter. He retired from the United States Air Force and then worked as a Commercial Refrigeration Technician in Huntington, West Virginia.

He is survived by one son, James O. Carter and wife Melody Kohl of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Joseph O. Carter of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, John K. Carter of Mountain View, California; one sister, Wanda Walker of Burlington, Ohio; and one brother, Kenneth J. Ellis of Autryville.
