Mr. Norman Arthur Core, Jr., 89, of Rolesville, NC died Saturday, January 4, 2014.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 11, 2014, at White Oak Baptist Church Cemetery, Hwy 53, in White Oak, North Carolina, with Rev. Andy Wood officiating.
Mr. Core was born on February 13, 1924, to the late Norman Arthur, Sr. and Mable Olga Gray Core. He served in the US Navy during World War II aboard the Destroyer Escort #741 USS Weaver. He was a member of the Ft. Bragg Masonic Lodge #667, a 32nd Degree Mason with the Wilmington Scottish Rite Bodies and a Sudan Shriner.
He is survived by: his wife, Madie Russ Core of the home; two sons, Doug Core of Stanley and Ken Core of Four Oaks; one daughter, Wanda Varnedoe of Wake Forest; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC, 29605.
