Mrs. Nolina “Sue” (Merritt) Hudson, 66 went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Briar Branch Baptist Church, officiating will be Rev. Richard Smith and Rev. Chuck McKnight.  Burial will follow at Melvin Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the funeral home.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Merritt and Mary Elizabeth Hodge Merritt; and her brothers, Junior, Larry, and Bobby Wayne Meritt.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Ray Hudson of the home; children, Crystal Talton of Chadbourn, Billy Hudson & wife, Jennifer of Erwin, and Eric Hudson of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Blake, Aubrey, Grayson and Zachary Hudson, Ashlea and Tyler Talton; great grandchildren, Paisley, Kensley, Blair, Troy, Zane, and Cayden; siblings, Alice Hammonds, Barbara Robinson, Dorothea Tatum, Sheila Merritt Dowless, Francie Strickland, Donnie Pendergraft, and Danny Merritt; and her half-sister, Debbie Williams.
