Mrs. Murphy Marie (Sessoms) Odom, 93 went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Roseboro.  Burial will follow at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clinton Taft Sessoms and Katie Murphy (Dallas) Sessoms; her husband of 78 years, Willis C. Odom; sisters, Ola Mae Sessoms Stansel and Cilia Alese Sessoms Taylor; children, Sara Margaret Odom Lucas, Steve Allen Odom and Robert Wayne Odom; grandchildren, George Dewayne Odom and Carl Michael Hoskins; great grandchildren, Eric M. Ross, Tera B. Ross, and Tiffany L. Lucas; great grandchild, Carter Lee Nobles; and son-in-laws, Chuck Dickerson, Dan R. Lucas & Gary Jenkins.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Peggy Marie Dickerson, Barbara Ann Jenkins, Wandella Royal (Henry), Willis Clinton “JR” Odom (Leslie Diane), Bill Odom, and Glenn Odom (Robin); 22 grandchildren; 62 great grandchildren; and 27 great great grandchildren.
