Mr. Mitchell E. Tanner, 50

GODWIN Mr. Mitchell Earl Tanner, 50, of 6223 Fayetteville Highway, passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009 at Betsy Johnson Regional Medical Center in Dunn. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009 at 3:00 pm at Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Jeff Bartlett and Rev. J. T. Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Tanner was preceded in death by his father, Earl W. Tanner and his grandparents Bruce and Bertha Faircloth. He worked as a bus driver with Enterprise National Car Rental. Mr. Tanner is survived by: mother, Betty Tanner, of Godwin; son, Kevin Haithcock and wife Crystal, of Garland; brother, Danny Ray Tanner, of Erwin; sister, Becky Jackson and husband Jeff, of Godwin; three grandchildren, Courtney Haithcock, Stephanie Haithcock, and Austin Haithcock, all of Garland; six nieces, Delia Gray, of Angier, Jessica Tanner, of Dunn, Shirley Simmons, of Fayetteville, Karen Simmons, of Fayetteville, Katie Jackson, of Dunn, Lindsay Jackson, of Dunn; nephew, Ryan Simmons, of Benson; adopted sister, Mary Simmons, of Fayetteville; several aunts and uncles.
