Mr. Mitchell Owen Kater, 46

STEDMAN Mr. Mitchell Owen Kater, 46 of 714 Blawell Street, died on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at his home. The funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, May 20, 2013 at Cokesbury United Methodist Church with Rev. James Koo and Rev. Arnold Pope officiating. Burial will follow at the Fisher Cemetery in Stedman with military honors. Mr. Kater was born on December 3, 1966 in Buncombe County, NC. He was a veteran of the Gulf War serving in the US Navy and then served in the Army National Guard. He also volunteered with the American Red Cross. He is survived by: his parents, Robert and Linda Kater of the home; brother, David Kater of Las Angeles, California; sister, Kim Kater of Burlington; and paternal grandmother, Charlotte Kater of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Cokesbury United Methodist Church in Stedman and other times at the home.
