Miss Sarah Colleen Smith, 10

FAYETTEVILLE Miss Sarah Colleen Smith, 10 of Fayetteville passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Duke Medical Center. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, July 26 at Live Oak United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jonathan Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Sarah was a native of Cumberland County and had finished the 5th grade at Eastover Central Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Cruz and Carmen Rivera and her uncle, Thomas Anthony Smith. She is survived by her parents, Brian and Nydzia Rivera Smith of the home; parental grandparents, Tommy and Mary Ann Smith of Fayetteville; uncles and aunts, Eliezer Rivera, Aida Santiago, Mildred Rivera, Juan Perez, Carmen Rivera, Rafo Rivera, Aileen Rivera, Willard Jenkins, Juan Rivera and Lizy Rivera. Also surviving are numerous cousins. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday evening at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Durham or to the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Foundation.
