Mrs. Mildred Elizabeth Ballance Matthews, 89 passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 at Highland House Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Fayetteville.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Clement Baptist Church, officiating will be Dr. James Dees, Jr. Burial will follow at Maxwell Cemetery in Autryville.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 2:45pm at the church Sunday before the service.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Archie Franklin Ballance and Mamie Pittman Ballance and brothers, Kermit, Edward and Albert Ballance.

She was a manager with the Fayetteville Observer Times Credit Union for 25 years.

She is survived by her son, Ark Matthews & wife, Beth; and grandchildren, Katherine Vugrinec & husband, Micah and Alex Matthews; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clement Baptist Church for the choir, 6020 Maxwell Road, Autryville, NC 28318.
