Miss Mercedes Carroll, 79 of Roseboro, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, September 5, at Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3681 Dunn Road, Roseboro, with Pastor George Terry officiating. Burial will follow at Roseboro Cemetery.

She was born December 29, 1938 in Sampson County and was the daughter of the late William Hinson and Annie Ruth Parnell Carroll.

She graduated May 26, 1961 from South-Eastern Bible College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was a member of Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church, served as one of the Church’s Pianists, as well as Treasurer for Women’s Ministries. She retired October 31, 2007 as Utility Clerk with the Town of Roseboro after 24 years of service.

She is survived by one aunt; one uncle; and several cousins.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 1:45pm Wednesday at the church prior to the service.
