Mrs. Melodie Joy Oates Vann, 58 passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.

The family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 6:00pm Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the funeral home.

Private services with the family will be held at a later date.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald Lewis and Amanda LaRoyce Best Oates.

She is survived by her husband, Donnie Vann of the home; son, Donald Lewis Oates of Mt. Olive; daughter, Dawn Vann Kennedy of Faison; sisters, Teresa Burch & husband, Jimmy of Faison and Donna Oates Warren & husband, Blake of Newton Grove; grandchildren, Paige Martin and Madison Kennedy; great grandchild, Greyson Smith and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church for the United Methodist Women, 692 Odom Road, Clinton, NC 28328.
